ROLE

All design phases

BRIEF

In cities like Seattle, where urban life unfolds across waterfronts and street markets, places of leisure and social interaction are a crucial part of city living as well as a key aspect of a city’s identity. This project challenges the traditional urban park typology by proposing a new multi-story structure better suited for rapid urbanization and allowing for a variety of programs to be included in the space. By looking at structural and facade systems, a new unique vertical park was created. The final works of this project are the product of extensive research and site analysis as part of my Senior Capstone Project, compiled into a finalized thesis book (See site menu).

RESULT

In addition to my thesis book which features case studies and in-depth analysis of my design process, final works also include a creative mapping of the site as well as a scale model. This model, which was first designed in Rhino, features both 3D-printed and hand-crafted elements.
